2.2.9. Camshafts

1–camshaft pulley;
2–bolt, 80–100 N • m;
3–sealing ring of a camshaft;
4–forward cover of the bearing;
5–camshaft of inlet valves;
6–bolt, 8–10 N • m;
7–central cover;
8–cover of a head of cylinders;

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a hose of ventilation of a case.
2. Remove a pulley of the water pump and a cranked shaft.
3. Remove a casing of a gear belt.
4. Take away a roller of a tension of a gear belt to the water pump and temporarily fix it in this situation.
5. Remove a gear belt from a camshaft pulley.
6. Turn out screws and remove the central cover.
7. Remove the block of coils of ignition.
8. Turn out bolts and uncover heads of cylinders.
9. Remove a camshaft pulley.
10. Remove covers of bearings of a camshaft and a chain.
11. Remove camshafts.
12. Remove hydraulic jacks of gaps of valves.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check a camshaft on lack of non-uniform wear, cracks or damages.
2. In two points measure height of each cam of a camshaft.

Nominal height of cams of a camshaft of inlet valves: 43,4483 mm
Nominal height of a camshaft of final valves: 43,8489 mm
Minimum admissible height of cams of a camshaft of inlet valves: 42,9484 mm
Minimum admissible height of a camshaft of final valves: 43,3489 mm

3. Check surfaces of cams on lack of non-uniform wear and damages.
4. Check each bearing on absence of damages. If the working surface of the bearing is excessively damaged, replace a head of cylinders or a cover of the bearing of a camshaft.

Axial люфт camshaft: 0,1–0,2 mm

Forward sealing ring of a camshaft

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check working edges of a sealing ring on lack of wear. If the working edge is worn-out or damaged, replace a sealing ring.
2. Check the surface of a camshaft contacting to a sealing ring. If this surface is evenly worn-out, replace a camshaft.

Hydraulic jacks of gaps of valves


Fill the hydraulic jack of gaps of valves with engine oil, hold vertically and fingers of a hand compress it from two parties.


The main malfunctions of hydraulic jacks of gaps of valves, the reasons and methods of elimination are given in the table.

Temporary noise at start of the cold engine. Normal phenomenon Noise disappears after warming up of engine oil and achievement of normal pressure
Continuous noise after the engine was not started within 48 hours. Prevention

Do not increase frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft of the engine above 3000 mines-1 as it is possible to damage hydraulic jacks of gaps of valves.


Continuous noise after start-up of the engine and replacement of a head of cylinders There is not enough oil in oil channels of the engine

Chain

Check a chain on lack of non-uniform wear, cracks or damages and, if necessary, replace it.


Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish hydraulic jacks of gaps of valves.
2. Establish a chain on asterisks of camshafts how it is shown in drawing.
3. Before installation apply a thin film pure engine oil on all surfaces of sliding of camshafts. Establish camshafts.
4. Establish covers of bearings of camshafts. Check the identification labels defining camshafts of inlet or final valves.
Camshaft of inlet valves: I
Camshaft of final valves: Е
5. Tighten bolts of fastening of covers of bearings the demanded moment.

Inhaling moment: 12–14 N • m

6. Grease with engine oil working edges and an external surface of a sealing ring and the special tool 09221-21000 establish a sealing ring on a forward part of a camshaft.

In hammer blows on the special adaptation establish a sealing ring against the stop in a nest.
7. Establish a pulley of a camshaft and fix it a bolt.

Inhaling moment: 80–100 N • m

8. Combine an adjusting label of a camshaft and an adjusting label of a pulley of a cranked shaft with indexes, thus the piston of the 1st cylinder will be in VMT in a compression step.
9. Establish a cover of a head of cylinders and tighten bolts of fastening of a cover the demanded moment.

Inhaling moment: 8–10 N • m

10. Establish high-voltage wires, coils of ignition and the central cover.
11. Establish a gear belt and tighten the mechanism of a tension of a gear belt.
12. Establish casings of a gear belt.
13. Establish a pulley of the water pump.
