As the automobile stereosystem works

Signals in ranges of AM and FM are transferred through the repeaters located round the city. The signals arriving from them, are accepted by the car aerial. When to the aerial of a radio receiver the strong radio signal arrives, the modern audiosystem provides high-quality reproduction. However in certain cases arriving signal, not strong and not the accurate. It can be caused by distance from radio station, proximity to other radio stations or existence of structures, bridges or other big objects in your district.

Usually reception of signals in a range of AM is better, than signals in FM range. It occurs because radio-waves in a range of AM are transferred on low frequencies of a broadcasting. Long, low-frequency radio-waves can extend in the atmosphere as on a straight line, and to bend around curvature of a terrestrial surface. Moreover, they can bend around various objects and can provide the best radio covering. Thereof, accurate reception of signals in a range of AM can be carried out at big distances better, than reception of signals in FM range.

Radio-waves in a range of FM are transferred on high frequencies of a broadcasting and cannot bend around a terrestrial surface. Thereof, radio-waves in FM range generally start to weaken at small distance from transferring station. Radio-waves in a range of FM are more strongly subject to influence of buildings, mountains or other subjects. It can lead to reproduction deterioration, and you can take it for malfunction of a radio receiver. The following conditions are normal and do not point to malfunction of a radio receiver:

– attenuation – with increase in distance of the car from the transferring aerial of radio station capacity of a radio signal falls, and the sound starts to fade. It is in that case recommended to choose other station with stronger signal;

– continuous buzzing noise – a weak radio signal in a range of FM or large obstacles between a radio transmitter and the reception aerial of the car lead to hindrance emergence in the form of continuous buzzing noise. This effect can be reduced having lowered level of adjustment of a timbre in the field of the top sound frequencies;

– mixing of signals – in process of signal weakening in FM range, can appear other stronger signal with close frequency of a broadcasting. It occurs at work of system of control for the most accurate signal of a radio receiver. In this case be switched to other station with stronger signal;

– interferential noise – hit on the aerial of the car of the radio signals received from the various directions, can lead to emergence of continuous buzzing noise. It can be caused by hit on the aerial of the car of a direct signal of radio station and the reflected signal of one station of a broadcasting or two signals from stations broadcasting on close frequencies. In this case be switched to other station while these conditions will not disappear.
