Positions of the lever of switching of modes by an automatic transmission

The highly effective automatic transmission of HYUNDAI has four transfers for advance and one transfer of a backing. It has the usual scheme of gear shifting shown in drawing 117. At night, in the first position of the multipurpose switch on the scheme of gear shifting the indicator will burn corresponding to the chosen range of transfers.
Prevention

During movement of the car it is impossible to transfer the selector lever to the situation "R" or "R".

For moving of the selector it is necessary to press the button, at the same time pressing a brake pedal.


For moving of the selector it is necessary to press the button.

For selector moving it is not necessary to press the button.


For the maximum economy of fuel, be accelerated smoothly. The automatic transmission will automatically include the second, third and raising transfers.

PURPOSES OF POSITIONS OF THE SELECTOR

"R" – Parking

Use this situation for car keeping on a place during parking or engine start. At a car parking, turn on the parking brake and transfer the selector to the situation "R" (Parking).

Prevention

Do not move the selector to the situation "R" (Parking) while the car will not be completely stopped. The neglect this rule can lead to breakage of an automatic transmission.


"R" – the Backing:

Use this situation for movement by a backing. Transfer the selector lever to the situation "R" (Backing) only after a full stop of the car.

"N" – Neutral situation:

In this position of the selector the automatic transmission is disconnected. In this situation it is possible to start the engine, however it is not recommended except cases when the engine decayed during car movement.

"D" – "Movement", the main transfer:

This position of the lever of the selector of an automatic transmission is the basic for movement. The automatic transmission will automatically include one of four transfers, providing the best profitability and capacity. If speed of the car exceeds 95 km/h, never transfer the selector to situation "2" (The second transfer) or "L" (Lowering transfer).

"2" – the Second transfer:

Use this situation for movement on the slippery road, lifting on an abrupt bias and for braking by the engine at descent from an abrupt bias. In this position of the selector, there is an automatic switching between the 1st and 2nd transfers. It means that there is no switching on the 3rd transfer. However if speed of the car exceeds a certain value, there is a switching on the 3rd transfer with a view of prevention of excessive dispersal of the engine. Transfer of the selector to situation "D" ("Movement") returns normal gear shifting.

"L" – Lowering transfer:

This position of the lever of the selector of an automatic transmission is the basic at movement on very abrupt biases and for braking by the engine on low speeds of movement at descent from abrupt biases. At inclusion of lowering transfer by "L", the transmission will temporarily remain in a range of the second transfer while the car will not lower speed till the speed when inclusion of lowering transfer by "L" will be possible. At movement in a mode "L" – ("Lowering transfer") do not exceed speed of 50 km/h.

Prevention

For smooth and safe gear shifting, when translating selector of the situation "N" or "R" before including transfer, completely squeeze out a brake pedal.
To transfer the selector from the situation "N" or "R" to any other situation, it is necessary to press a brake pedal completely.
You can always transfer the selector from the situation "R", "N", "D", "2", "L" to the situation "R".
Transfer the selector to the situation "R" or "R" only after a full stop of the car.
Do not increase frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft of the engine when the selector is in the provision of transfer of a backing or one of movement provisions at the pressed pedal of a brake.
When translating selector from the situation "N" or the situation "R" in another the provisions "R", "D", "2", or "L" always press a brake pedal.
Do not use the situation "R" instead of the parking brake. Always turn on the parking brake, transfer the selector to the situation "R" and switch off ignition when you leave the car, even for a second. Do not leave the car without supervision when the engine works.
Regularly check liquid level in an automatic transmission and add liquid if necessary.


Receptions of the correct driving

Do not transfer the selector from the situation "N" or "R" to any other situation
at the pressed pedal of an accelerator.

During movement of the car it is impossible to transfer the selector lever to the situation "R".

Before transferring the selector to the situation "R", be convinced that the car is completely stopped.
Do not slide under a bias on neutral transfer. It is very dangerous. Always hold transfer included in time of movement of the car.

Avoid style of driving with frequent sharp braking, and do not hold the left foot on a brake pedal constantly during driving. It conducts to an overheat of brakes and loss of efficiency of their work.
On long descents it is necessary to apply braking by the engine to prevention of an overheat of brakes (including low gears).

At low gear inclusion, slightly brake the car. Otherwise the low gear can not join.

Always use the parking brake. Do not rely on transfer of the selector to the situation "R" for prevention of movement of the car.

Be especially careful at movement on the slippery road to time of braking, acceleration and gear shifting. On the slippery road, sharp change of speed of the car can lead to loss of coupling of wheels of the car with the road and control loss over the car.

Turn on the switch of raising transfer for ensuring good fuel profitability and smoothness of a course. In case of need braking by the engine in a range of "D" or in need of repeating switching between the 3rd and 4th transfers to time of lifting on a small bias, it is recommended to switch off raising transfer. After that turn on the switch of raising transfer.
Prevention

At control loss over the car on high speeds the risk of a perevorachivaniye of the car considerably increases.
Management loss often arises, when two or more wheels move down from a road track, and the driver tries to return the car back on a road track.
In case your car moved down from a road track, avoid sharp turn of a steering wheel. Instead, reduce speed of the car before again driving on the road.


At turning on of the switch of raising transfer, the transmission will automatically include the second, the third and raising transfers. When the switch of raising transfer is in the situation "OFF" (Off), raising transfer will not be included. Under normal conditions movement the selector should be in situation "D", and the switch of raising transfer should be switched on. If you need to make sharp acceleration, press an accelerator pedal against the stop. The transmission will automatically include a low gear depending on speed of the car and loading.
