1.68. Trailer or car towage


Prevention

Abstain from trailer towage throughout the first 2000 km of run for providing extra earnings of details of the new car. Not observance of this precautionary measure can lead to serious damage of the engine or a transmission.



Towing hooks

Choose the correct combination of the traction coupling device, having convinced that its arrangement coincides with a fastening place on the trailer or the towed car. Use the traction coupling device which evenly distributes load of the chassis.
Prevention

Do not connect brake system of the trailer to brake system of the car.
At trailer towage on a steep slope (exceeding 12 %), pay special attention to the index of temperature of cooling liquid of the engine not to allow an engine overheat. If the arrow of the index of temperature of cooling liquid of the engine entered into the zone "N" (Hot) scales, stop the car in a safe place and let's to the engine work idling while it will not cool down. After that you can continue movement.



Maximum mass of the trailer and maximum load of the coupling device

Load of the coupling device can be increased or reduced by a way of redistribution of loading in the trailer. It is possible to be convinced of it by check of full weight of the loaded trailer and check of load of the coupling device.
Prevention

Do not load the trailer so that its back part was loaded more lobby. 60 % from weight of cargo in the trailer should fall on a forward half of the trailer, and the remained 40 % for a back half.
The full mass of the trailer should not exceed the indicators specified in the table.
Load of a lobby or back axis should not exceed the maximum load of an axis specified on the identification plate of the car. It is possible that the mass of the towed trailer does not exceed full weight of the car, but exceeds the maximum load of an axis. The wrong loading of the trailer and / or too large number of luggage in a luggage carrier of the car can lead to an overload of a back axis. Redistribute loading, and again check load of axes.
The most permissible static vertical load on the coupling device makes 50 kg.

The wrong loading of your car and the trailer can seriously affect work of a steering and brake system that can lead to a road accident in which you can seriously suffer.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before the beginning of towage check connections of the coupling device, safety chains, and also work of lamps of lighting, stoplights and indexes of turns of the trailer.
2. Always try to move on moderate speed.
3. Towage of the trailer demands bigger amount of fuel.
4. For effective braking by the engine and work of system of a charging, do not include the fifth transfer (a mechanical transmission) or raising transfer (an automatic transmission).
5. Always fix luggage in the trailer that it could not be thrown out on the road to movement time.

7. The combination the car / trailer is more subject to influence of lateral winds and shock waves.

1. Switch off the conditioner.
2. Reduce speed of the car.
3. When lifting include a low gear.
4. If you got to traffic jam, transfer the selector to the situation "R" ("Parking") or "N" ("Neutral transfer") and let's to the engine work on the increased turns of idling.
