13.14. Main brake cylinder

1–pressure regulator;
2–main brake cylinder;
3–stopper;
4–compensatory tank;
5–lock ring;
6–primary piston;
7–secondary piston;
8–nut, 8–12 N • m.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the electric socket from the sensor of level of brake liquid.
2. Disconnect tubes of brake system from the main brake cylinder and close the opened openings suitable jams.

Prevention

Brake liquid dissolves paint, plastic and isolation of wires therefore at casual hit of liquid on a paint and varnish covering of the car or its components wash out them a large amount of water.


3. Disconnect an arm of a regulator of pressure and remove the main brake cylinder. Unscrew nuts of fastening of the main brake cylinder.

Dismantling

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a stopper and merge from a tank brake liquid.
2. Remove a tank from the main brake cylinder.

Prevention

If necessary, fix the main brake cylinder in a vice, clamping its main part of the case, instead of a flange.


3. Get primary and secondary pistons from the case of the main brake cylinder.

Prevention

Be careful not to damage diameter of boring of the main brake cylinder.
Do not assort primary and secondary pistons.



Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check an internal surface of the case of the main brake cylinder on lack of a rust and development.
2. Check primary and secondary pistons on lack of a rust, задиров or wear.
3. Check primary and secondary pistons on absence of deterioration of their condition.

Assembly

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Grease with the recommended brake liquid an internal surface of the main brake cylinder and external surfaces of primary and secondary pistons.

The recommended brake liquid: DOT3

2. Accurately insert a spring and the secondary piston into an opening of the main brake cylinder.
3. Accurately insert the primary piston into an opening of the main brake cylinder.
4. Press the primary piston and establish a lock ring in a flute of diameter of boring of the main brake cylinder.
5. Establish a stopper on a tank.
6. Grease two sealing rings (inside and outside) with brake liquid and insert them into the case of the main brake cylinder.

Prevention

Each time at replacement of a tank it is necessary to replace sealing rings.


7. With effort insert a tank into sealing rings of the main brake cylinder.
8. Connect the electric socket to the sensor of level of brake liquid.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the main brake cylinder on the vacuum amplifier of brakes and screw two nuts. Tighten two nuts of fastening of the main brake cylinder.

Inhaling moment: 8–12 N • m

2. Connect two tubes of brake system and the electric socket to the sensor of level of brake liquid.

Moment of an inhaling of tubes: 13–17 N • m

3. Fill in brake liquid and remove air from a hydraulic contour of brake system.
