Removal and installation
Cars without a safety cushion
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
|
1. Remove the button of a sound signal and a steering wheel. |
|
2. Remove the top and bottom casings of a steering column. |
| 3. Turn out screws and remove the multipurpose switch. |
| 4. Installation is carried out to sequences, return to removal. |
|
Cars with a safety cushion
At removal of the multipurpose switch on the cars equipped with a safety cushion, be careful and satisfy the following conditions.
Prevention
Do not assort any of components of auxiliary system of safety of SRS. Dismantling of components can put safety system out of action.
Exclude hit on a safety cushion of solvents or clearing substances.
Transport a safety airbag separately, a bag up.
If any SRS component fell or on it there are cracks, dents or other defects in the case, an arm or the socket, replace them with the new.
At transportation do not place a hand on a safety cushion.
Do not heat up the safety cushion block to temperatures above 93°C.
After expansion of a safety cushion replace a spiral spring of the sensor with the new.
Before installation of a spiral spring of the sensor of a safety cushion combine a label and the index of neutral provision of a spring of the sensor, previously having established forward wheels for movement directly forward. If the label of a spiral spring is not combined properly, the steering wheel cannot turn completely or the wire of a spiral spring will be damaged, complicating normal work of SRS.

| 1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery. |
Prevention
Before service of system of safety cushions be convinced that passed not less than 30 with the ambassador of switching off of ignition and a wire detachment from the negative plug of the storage battery.
The system of safety cushions is equipped with an emergency power source which allows to develop safety cushions in case of a detachment of wires from the storage battery at failure.

2. Turn out bolts of fastening of a safety cushion. Disconnect sockets of a sound signal and a safety cushion and remove the safety cushion block. |

3. Remove a steering wheel. |
|
4. Remove an emphasis for knees of the driver. |
|
5. Turn out screws and remove the top and bottom casings of a steering column. |
|
6. Turn out screws and remove the multipurpose switch. |
| 7. Installation is carried out to sequences, return to removal. |
|
Check
With the multipurpose switch in each situation check conductivity between the corresponding contacts of sockets. If conductivity does not correspond demanded, replace the multipurpose switch.
