15.19. Evaporator

1–air filter;
2–cover of the air filter;
3–top case of the evaporator;
4–evaporator radiator;
5–bottom case of the evaporator.


1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery.
2. Discharge air central air.
3. Disconnect a tube (In) and the soaking-up filter from the evaporator.


After separation of components of central air of air immediately close connections by the corresponding covers for an exception of hit of moisture of air in system.

4. Disconnect a drain hose from the evaporator.
5. Turn out two screws and uncover a condensing ring from the dashboard.
6. Turn out three screws of fastening of a ware box.
7. Disconnect the socket from the thermostatic switch.
8. Turn out three screws of fastening of the evaporator.
9. Remove the evaporator.


1. Remove 7 clips of fastening of the top case of the evaporator.
2. Remove the top case of the evaporator.


Be careful not to damage electroconducting of the thermostatic switch.

3. Remove the thermostatic switch with the thermoresistor and its clip from the evaporator block.
4. Remove the evaporator.


1. Check evaporator plates on lack of a contamination and damage. If plates are hammered, blow them the compressed air.


Do not use water for cleaning of plates of the evaporator.

2. Check joints on lack of cracks and scratches.


1. Establish the evaporator in the bottom case.
2. Establish the thermostatic switch with the thermoresistor to the evaporator.
3. Establish the top case.
4. Establish seven clips and screw two screws.


1. Installation is carried out to sequences, return to removal.
2. If evaporator replacement was carried out, add in the compressor 40 of cm3 of oil.
3. Pump out, charge and check air central air.

Check on the car

1. Check quantity of a coolant during a cooling cycle.
2. Establish manometers to the highway.
3. Start the engine, leave to work for 5 mines on frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft of 2000 mines-1.
4. Check the evaporator on existence of the following defects:

– if the broad valve is hammered, the indication of a manometer of low pressure will decrease to 0кг/cm2;
– if the broad valve is hammered or there are leaks in the evaporator, repair or replace the evaporator.
